How to Invest More in Yourself as an Individual
In life, there is only one long-term investment that is guaranteed to pay off. It’s not your Forex trades. It’s not your ROI, and it’s definitely not a brand new car or home (the home sure helps though!). So what on Earth could it possibly be? You!
That’s right. When it comes to finding worthwhile ways to spend your time, and your money; nothing is more important than self-development. At the end of the day, the more you invest in yourself, the happier, and more successful you will be as you tread through life.
Why do you think millionaire geniuses like Grant Cardone, Gary Vaynerchuk, and good ol’ Bill Gates invest so much of their time in consuming books, and working on there self-education?
Sadly, with how busy life gets – it’s so easy to lose your head under water and forget to work on yourself. We get that, it’s completely normal!
The good news is through this article, we plan to help list some excellent ways to work on your own life. To help you improve the things that you are good at, ensure you strengthen your weaknesses – helping you live a happier, longer & more profitable life.
Invest In “Life-Extending” Time
Ever heard the term “YOLO”, millennials live by that term. That’s one of the biggest contributors to the 14-year old business geniuses that we envy. Because they understand that they only get one life.
You only live once. That’s it. No reset button, no rewind, and no pause. And guess what? In order to live our life to the fullest, we rely full-heartedly on our body to function efficiently.
Now, we are not saying you have to jump on every diet, or self-cleanse routine that you can possibly. But what we are saying is every now invest in yourself. Do that yoga retreat. Go for your morning jogs.
It’s actually kind of shocking how the smallest changes in your life can influence your lifespan so much in the long-run. Something as simple as a daily walk around the block can add a whopping seven years onto your life. Now, that’s crazy!
Invest in Developing New Skills to Help You Excel
Education is a lifelong pursuit. Regardless of what you do, or where your passions lay, there will always be more to learn. Not to mention room for improvement.
I know, your probably thinking, “Well, college was bad enough – and expensive! There is no way I am putting myself through that torment again”, don’t worry – you don’t have to. There are books, e-books, webinars, courses, and so many other ways for you to learn more. The crucial thing is to find something you love, and envelop yourself in it. Who knows, maybe through doing this, you will become the next Mark Zuckerberg!

Have a To-Do List – Trust Me
I can tell you right now, without my to-do list, I would not be as far as I am in life today. It’s been my bread and butter. I live by Trello, but there are plenty of other tools you can choose from. Heck, even I occasionally go old-fashioned with a pen and paper.
Why is having a to-do list so important? Not only will it help you stay motivated, and keep you feeling accomplished when you crush through your work. But it can also keep you on the grind, when you get those I want to slack off moments – and you check out your life bucket goals. Nothing is more satisfying then crossing those off one at a time.
Here’s exactly how I divide up my to-do list to stay motivated.
The first thing you want to do is have a list for your daily work. You should review this list every night, and adjust it – so when you wake up, you feel organized, and ready to take the day on one challenge at a time.
Next, I have a section for my goals. Both personal and for work. The reason why this is so important is because you will have moments, where you ponder, “What am I even doing this for? Why is it worth all of this stress, and hard work?”
This list will help you stay focused, and knocking off your goals, will slowly get you to the point that you want to be in your life. Here is a guide to help you set reasonable goals.
Finally, have a section of things that you really want to do in life. Whether it’s travelling through Asia with the good ol’ backpack nomad style. Or living on some exotic island for a year. Whatever tickles your fancy – put it on this list.
Start a Business – You Got This!
Once you start developing your charactership, and your skills, you may start getting tired of the rat race of life. Well, guess what – this is where all of your self-development becomes worth it. Thanks to your hard work on improving your skills, and learning new things around your trade – you have all the experience that you need to do to wave goodbye to that office job – and go out on your own.
Now, I won’t lie to you. It’s not the easiest change to make in your life. There are going to be days where you wonder why on earth you left your safety net. But the majority of the time – you will thank yourself over, and over again.
Of course, you want to do plenty of reading before jumping the gun and launching your own business.
