7 Signs You Need Better Business Software
Having the right software is important for keeping your company organized and efficient. While switching to new software can be a hassle, it could have many benefits to your business. Below are just a few signs that it may be time to migrate to new software.
It’s Too Basic for Your Needs
It’s possible that your software may not be able to meet the demands of your business. Perhaps your business has expanded and outgrown its software. Alternatively, you may have chosen the wrong software from the start. Basic software tends to be cheap – if you’re using cheap software, consider whether you could benefit from upgrading to more expensive software. Compare more expensive programs to see what added features you could benefit from.
It’s Too Complex for Your Needs
Software can also be too complex to the point that it slows your business down. There may be lots of unnecessary parameters that need to be set or you may find that it takes ages to train new staff how to use it. In these cases, it could be beneficial to downgrade your software. More basic software could be cheaper, so you may save money by downgrading.
It Frequently Crashes or Experiences Bugs
Frequent crashes and bugs are a sign of faulty software. You may find that the developer is able to fix these bugs. If they keep occurring and your work is being negatively affected it could be time to migrate to new software. Be wary that software could just be corrupted and may just need to be reinstalled in some cases.
It’s No Longer Supported by the Vendor
After several years, a vendor may stop offering support for a program. At this point, the software will stop receiving updates. When this happens, you need to find new software straight away. Unsupported software could develop bugs or could be vulnerable to new viruses – continuing to use it could be very risky. This guide at Inc. explains more about unsupported software.
It’s Not Available As an App
A lot of modern software such as this Synergistix CRM software is cloud-based and can now be used on a smartphone. This allows you to handle all your business admin from your phone in any location. If you have a job that regularly involves travelling or meeting people out of the office, you could benefit greatly from migrating to a program that can also be used as an app.
It Doesn’t Integrate Well With Other Programs
Some programs are able to integrate with others. This can allow you to easily transfer data between them such as being able to link up marketing software and accounting software. If your software doesn’t give you the option to do this and it’s slowing you down, consider whether it could be time to upgrade to newer software. You could even consider all-in-one software to replace lots of different applications from different brands.
It Doesn’t Get Good Customer Reviews
Have lots of other people left negative reviews of the software that you’re using? This could be a sign that you’re using poor quality software. Take a look at programs with good reviews and see what features you could be missing out on.
